What these seminars cover

STAMMER©KINETICS — the concept

The horse needs stability; without it, it cannot move. STAMMER©KINETICS helps you recognize and influence the various mechanisms of stability and their effects on the health and performance of the horse. The core element of STAMMER©KINETICS is a biomechanical model. This model explains the movement of the horse and represents it graphically. It combines the gear model for the dynamics of the horse’s external form with the development of its kinetic energy through the suspension mechanism and coordination within its myofascial chains for functional stabilization.

Stefan Stammer

Stammer’s work focuses on the analysis of movement in both sport and pleasure horses, and applies physical therapy techniques suited to their individual requirements.

Stammer’s work focuses on the analysis of movement in both sport and pleasure horses, and applies physical therapy techniques suited to their individual requirements. He has trained in both human physiotherapy and equine osteopathy, and has been working primarily with horses since 1999.

Besides his clinical practice, he has spoken at numerous national and international congresses and courses, developed physiotherapy programs in cooperation with veterinary clinics in Germany, Switzerland and the USA focusing on rehabilitation concepts for horses having already been taught and received with enthusiasm since 2013/14, the course format continues to evolve, and is better than ever this time around!

Stefan will be supported in his teaching by the experienced teaching members of the IAVC Team, during practical sessions, as well as in specific theory topics.

Functional movement

Stammer Kinetics — Module 1

Manual Therapy (Course T1). Manual therapy according to the Stammer Kinetics concept is based on a completely new approach to active-dynamic myofascial mobilization. This technique aims to influence the relationship between flexibility and stability in favor of effective and shock-absorbing suspension. The therapist works almost exclusively in functional chains that are activated by specific techniques. Every form of mobilization is supported by stabilizing elements and can be accessed by the horse at the coordinative level. The horse is enabled to respond to specific impulses in a mechanically functional manner.

Stammer Kinetics — Module 2

Fundamentals of medical training therapy for horses (Course T2). We offer comprehensive basic knowledge of medical training therapy based on the latest scientific standards in human medicine. You will learn about the mechanisms by which horses organize kinetic energy within their bodies, as well as which structures are involved and how they respond to different movement stimuli and therapeutic interventions. Whether you are a professional looking to support horse owners during convalescence or you are planning your own rehabilitation facility, this course will provide you with the necessary knowledge and valuable information for practical implementation.
